Steve Carell will soon be leaving his long-standing role as Michael Scott on the NBC's sitcom The Office to portray a darker kind of role.
This time Carell will play a professor who comes home one day to find his wife dead in their backyard. After suspicions that police are wrong in ruling his wives death as an accident, he attempts to teach his dog to talk as the dog was the only witness to the crime.
Carell has starred in more serious roles before including one of his breakthrough roles in the film Little Miss Sunshine in which he played a sucidal uncle to a young pageant hopeful.
The film will be an adaption of the novel "Dogs of Babel" by Carolyn Parkhurt. No director is attached to the film as of yet but Carell is set to serve as a producer. Photo source
