Right now the top contender seems to be recent Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) as it is rumored that the studio behind producing the flick is "very interested in her."
Other names being thrown around are Dakota Fanning (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass) Saoirse Ronan (Hanna), Hailee Seinfeld (Tru Grit) and Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine).
My guess is that these films are going to be next to Twilight and Harry Potter with it's large following. Being that studios in the past seem to cast actors who are slightly unknown, there is a large chance this will happen again with The Hunger Games.
