Both films had large price tags in which Yahoo.com estimated, the filmmakers spent anywhere from $100 to $150 million per film to make. Although Narnia took the larger sum at the box office, both films failed to make the expected amounts this weekend.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader took in only $24.5 million and was expected to gross anywhere from $30 to $40 million. The Tourist, forcasted somewhere in the $20 million range but only took in $17 million.

I guess good looks are not selling as well as they used to be in films. It appears that cartoon and other children-aimed movies seem to be making the majority of the cash at the box office these days. But Jolie and Depp may already be aware of this.
In March of 2011 Depp will debut in the cartoon action-comedy film, Rango. Jolie is reportedly also reprising her role as "Tigress" and working on the second Kung-Fu Panda film which will also be released in 2011.
