Did you know that the character of Buffalo Bill in the film is a combination of three real life serial killers? Ed Gein (who was known for skinning his victims), Ted Bundy (who used injuries to bait in woman to kidnap them) and Gary Heidnick (who kept the woman he kidnapped in his basement).
