What's up with 'The Hangover'?

The highly generic concept of men venturing to Las Vegas for a bachelor party took audiences by surprise in the summer of 2009 when the blockbuster comedy The Hangover, was released in theaters exhanging the typical rendezvous at strip clubs and binge drinking for drugging tigers and infamous Mike Tyson cameos.

Although the concept of the sequel, Hangover 2, has been kept tightly under wraps recently stars of the film have begun accidentally spilling details of the film to the press.

In Zach Galifinakis's recent interview with Comedy Death Ray Podcast he complained of creative differences with film producers calling the situation "frustrating" to which his interviewer commented that Galifinakis was currently working on the Hangover sequel. Galifankis quickly tried to hush up the interviewer but the damage was already done.

Reportedly, Galfinakis is not the only star of the film to be upset with concepts in the sequel. In response to the backlash of concern from Hangover fans after Galifinakis's comment, director of the sequel, Todd Phillips (Old School), announced this week that he would replace a cameo of a tattoo artists originally set to be played by recent headline-grabber, Mel Gibson to Taken star, Liam Neeson.

Although many believe that Hangover is only being given the sequel based on their impressive $105 million gross after only 10 days in theaters, Phillips stated that the cast and himself knew the movie would be successful after only the first few days of filming. "We were thinking of sequel ideas when we were shooting, which sounds cocky, but we were doing it more because it was just fun to talk about ideas while hanging out on the set," said Phillips.

The Hangover 2 is currently in production and as of yet, is set to bring back all of the main characters except Ed Helm's (The Office) character Stu Price's accidental wife, Jade (played by Heather Graham- Scrubs). According to Phillips Graham's character would not be make an appearence stating that he couldn't figure out a plausible way to make her character into the script.

The Hangover 2 is rumored to be released in theaters May of 2011.
