Is Ben Affleck back on top?

The movie, The Town, opens with what appears to be a well-planned robbery. The suspects wear masks as to not be recognized by their victims and every detail of the heist is planned to perfection. That is until the savvy bank manager, Claire Kessey, planned by Rebecca Hall (Frost/Nixon) foils the robbers plans by secretly contacting the police and therefore ending their heist.

The film which is brilliantly executed, is filled with moments of extreme suspense, sadness, humor and love. A perfect combination of everything an entertaining movie should be. Although bank robbery movies are not original, everything about this story is. The overall tone of the movie is a mix between The Boondock Saints in reference to the brotherly comradery between the gang of bank robbers along with the Boston background and accent of its lead actors. But it also has the appeal of its love story between two unlucky people who find solace in each others misfortunes.
